You keep the beat...

I saw Plug on Sunday at Upset The Rhythm and was suitably impressed, especially with the bassist's ability to play the keyboard with her toe as well as sing and strum simultaneously. The post punk duo have got their second release out on Monday which follows the great first release Fresh Pleasures in great form. The double single for B-boy and You Keep The Beat also comes on a delightful Dalai Lama faced Vinyl. Both tracks are well catchy. Ace stuff. The link to pre-order is below with a little listener.

Please Please me

Firstly, apologies for not posting the last couple of days, I was in illville, but now I'm back to tell you that there's an ace little music weekend planned in Peckham in a couple of weeks called 'Yes Way'. If you like the sound of loads of obscure little noisey bands playing in one place over a two day period then this will be right up your ally. I've checked through the line-up and there are a couple of little gems in there. Good ones beginning with 'P' are Plug, Pens and Please. Here's a nice instrumental by the latter of the three and a link to the festival page...

T'is a pleasure

It seems there is a large trend for bands made up of two people at the moment. This little outfit are called PLUG on the great Parlour Records label. The two lovely ladies put sultry bass and drums with bit of Hammond-esque keys to make an ace post-punk style track. They're playing a few gigs around London over this month. Deets are on their myspace. Looking forward to getting down to one of them to hear what else they have in store.
